Hugo Tagholm is the Chief Executive of the UK-based marine conservation organisation ‘Surfers Against Sewage’ (SAS),  https://www.sas.org.uk/ .  In his 10 years in this role, he has led the growth and development of SAS into a leading force in UK marine conservation that reaches from actions on the beach to influence on government policy.  Achievements include leading on the development of The Ocean Conservation All Party Parliamentary Group (a platform to bring together cross-sectorial stakeholders including environmental charities, NGOs, health experts, businesses and community leaders to evidence and discuss policy drivers and legislative changes to protect the marine environment). He also initiated the Global Wave Conference, an international conference focused on marine conservation through the prism of surfing and action sports. This conference unites athletes, academics, scientists, activists, politicians and others to share best practice to forge international collaboration and present new campaigns.
