Eva Gkenakou
As Sustainability Director at Multiplex Construction Europe, Eva leads the environmental sustainability strategy on matters such the transition to a low energy and water economy, responsible sourcing and modern slavery, wellbeing and sustainability in building design as well as net positive biodiversity and air quality. She has led the development of Multiplex Europe’s Net Positive Strategy which includes a zero carbon strategy approved by the prestigious Science Based Targets initiative and a commitment to Net Zero Carbon Buildings for Multiplex’s own offices.
Eva contributes to policies and standards across the industry through a number of fora, such as the project sponsors committee for anti-slavery alliance Stronger Together and the Members Advisory Committee for the UK Green Building Council.
Eva completed her first degree in Chemistry at the University of Athens and went on to complete an MSc in environmental engineering at the University of Manchester and then a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Southampton. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Waste Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
